Judge Callaghan has over fifteen years of law enforcement experience. After serving as a police officer and detective, Judge Callaghan went back to law school to better serve the legal system and his community. ​

  • Retired Police Officer and Homicide Detective

  • Municipal Court Judge for five years

  • Special Mobile County District Court Judge 

  • Member of the Alabama State Bar and Mobile Bar Association

  • Admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama and the Northern District of Alabama

  • Admitted to Practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit

  • Graduate of John Marshall Law School and Liberty University

I believe that compassion for a need brings about commitment to a vision. My desire to become a judge was born out of my experiences in law enforcement. When I am elected as your next Circuit Court Judge, I will take all of my experience to the bench and do everything in my power to keep our communities safe, and violent offenders in jail.
